New Question...

First of all, thanks for all the responses to my original question, they were very informative.

After talking it over, we thought, hey why not just stay in one of the non-casino hotels. Save the $50-75 a spend it towards and nicer dinner/drinks/gambling. Also, this way we wouldn't feel tied to one casino either. What are your opinions on this? I was looking at the Days Inn Boardwalk for $125/night.

We plan on getting there friday evening, check in, freshen up, heading out to the Borgata to the show, then go to a casino for gambling/bar/club until the weee hours of the morning, sleeping, then checking out. So as you can see, the room isn't really that important.

Anyone have any experience with the Days Inn (or have a better recommendation) or suggest a good casino for young (mid 20's) gambling/drinking/partying crowd (Harrah's was suggested). Thanks for all your help.

Why not stay at either Knight's Inn Absecon (about $75) , La Samanna on Brigantine , or Celebrity on Brigantine(about $106- has a fun DJ bar and an older lounge w/3 piece combo). La Samana is the nicest(about $159 and has a shuttle to Borgata) . These are all just as close to the Borgata as Day's Inn .

Also the Wave ( Trump Marina )is a larger live band dance club with many 20 somethings and a no jeans / sneakers dress code .Borgata is great if you like NYC Dance club things ( but a 20.00 adm charge and a strict dress code .) Or live 80's music in the small club - no adm.charge .

That's an idea too... does the jitney go out to Absecon though? (not exactly sure the mileage). Once I park the car when we get there, I'm not trying to driver until we leave the next day.

And as far as clubs... we're more into rock type clubs and bars as opposed to dance clubs.

There is a jitney to absecon ( and Brigantine ) but I'm not really familiar with it . But with 2 people you might as well take taxis . The Wave has a band that does all types of music in the top 40 areas . It's Probably your best bet . The Eden at Harrah's does too but a little more "loungey" . The lounge at the Borgota is more of an 80's or Alt. Rock band .

If you're referring to the Days Inn near the Trop, my experience is that it's a nice, clean hotel. I was a little worried when we were checking in, but the room was immaculate and I would definitely recommend it. The location could be better - though you are a quick easy walk to the Trop and the quarter, and the Hilton is not too far down the other way. The rate seems a little high for this time of year - did you try Expedia and hotels.com?

Have fun!

LuvBreezes - The cheapest rate the Days Inn was offering was $125 for friday night and $225 for saturday night (!?!)

This was from DaysInn.com and all the travel sites were either the same or a bit more

allure45 - We decided we wanted to add another night, and since as you can see above Days Inn wants $225 for sat. night, we're not going to be staying there. Since we want to keep the accommodations side of the trip low cost, I took your advice and looked at the Knights Inn Absecon. Seems like a good deal at $70/sat. night. Its a new hotel and people seemed pleased with it. Have reservations tentatively, but may change if someone has a better recommendation/we decide on something different.

Why don't you stay in a casino or closer to the casinos/boardwalk, then move to Absecon Saturday morning to save $$. Then you get the best of both worlds.

Yep, that's the plan. Going to stay somewhere on the Boardwalk Fri night (most likely Days Inn), then Sat. night stay somewhere a few miles out of town (most likely Knights Inn Absecon)

The Knight INN is fine ( Someone told me it has something to do with HOJO but I'm not sure of the information . ? Since you'll already be in town on the Fri nt. , one other possibility might be a delux room at the Surfside 6 hotel . It is right next to club tru down the street from the Sands . Not as nice as the Knight's Inn but it might be around the same price and you won't have to move too far .

My suggestion based upon your plans is to pick up one of the Green Travel guides at the I95 rest area.It is a coupon book of hotels only. You will save another $50-$60 by staying in Absecon or on Black Horse Pike(West A.C.).Ex.Quality Inn,$50. Sun-Thur with cont. bfst.,heated indoor pool, etc.

Days Inn $34., Hampton $69.,etc

GOOD LUCK!!!

We prefer the Comfort Inn North in Absecon...it is among the closest to Borgata/Harrahs in Absecon, has a nice free cont. breakfast, has 6 stories with indoor hallways, and the rooms are imacculate.

The Knights Inn is right next door, is new and has about 30 or 40 outdoor entry rooms.

Just not the same kind of experience, and the Comfort Inn is often less or the same in price. Comfort Inn sometimes also has casino packages. I'd call there first. You will need a cab to the casinos(about 6 miles), but it will still be cheaper than staying on the boardwalk, and MUCH safer than staying at a non-casino boardwalk hotel.

Just my opinion after visiting AC frequently for over 15 years. Have fun.
