Why Don't Atlantic City Casinos Post Jackpot Winners?

Is anyone else curious/mystified why Atlantic City casinos don't post their larger winners on their web sites or promote in the casino? I always find it fun to look at who has won jackpots on sites like Mohegan Sun and other regional casinos. The Atlantic City info is lackluster, sometimes you will see something in a local news report but unless I am completely missing it either their web sites are woefully out of date or they just don't do it.

I realize I am inviting the -- Atlantic City Gambling Sucks trolls -- but I am genuinely curious why they don't use what seems to me to be an obvious marketing strategy to generate excitement about their product.

Been a while since I stayed at Caesars, but, I recall seeing winners pictures holding giant checks on one of the hotel info channels on the tv. Reason I remember is one guy was from my town. Just first name and city displayed.

Bally's has a wall of winner's pics in a hallway between the two boardwalk entrances.

>>I wouldn't want them to announce any wins that I have, it just invites trouble!<<

That it does! The weekend of July 9, I was one of the lucky winners of the “Spin the Wheel” contest at Caesars. I won $500. When I went to play the slots, within a space of ten minutes, three people approached me with hard luck stories. I felt nervous because clearly I was being targeted. I had to call my husband to walk me back to the room. For the rest of the weekend, I kept looking over my shoulders. While I was happy to win, I just wish it hadn’t been in front of two hundred people.

What I see elsewhere is announcements for progressives and for promotions, not simple hand pays that is more along the lines of what I was thinking. I see that on other web sites was just curious why ac properties don't seem to.

a lot of the winners on the mohegan sun facebook website are hardly "jackpot winners" i see people posted there who have won a couple of hundred bucks.
