Where are you in PA ? When we went to AC we came from watertown NY on highway 81 through or bypass Scranton , thats the only place i've been in PA , but looking at the map PA looks like a large State , All our racetracts in Canada have casinos but they are slots only and they all have really low payouts , the canadian Government runs all the race tract slot casinos and casinos except for casinos on native reservations which are far from me.

I'm 40 minutes outside of Ottawa and the closest casino is in Quebec province called Casino De Lac Leamy and it is horrible they were fined a few times for low payout percentages , at one point i heard the payout percentage was around 28 to 35 %. And if we want to play in a native run casino it's about 4 hour drive it's called Casino Rama in Orilla Ontario and Great Blue Heron casino in Port Perry Ontario outside of Toronto. Another thing is in Casino De Lac Leamy your lucky if you get a free coke lol they have absolutely no comps at all , i have a friend who use to ( casino drained him ) play big money there on roulette and after spending a few thousand in a night he would get some sandwiches and drinks , thats how our government owned casinos operate.

I couldn't believe how generous Ballys was when we went , the first night free and a $60.00 food voucher and legend show tickets all for just going to talk with a slot host there , not to mention the comps we got from playing slots and a free Bally's windbreaker jacket each for 5 points on the card, not to mention the free drinks. I use to go to the races alot especially Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto for the Thoroughbreds but i'm not into the races anymore. Are the casinos their building in your area big name ones or are they private native ones ?

I heard The Turning Stone Casino is nice past Syracuse NY and also the Mohegan Sun One somewhere in NY i think.

Term...

just spent 4 days there. Stayed at the Hilton and did OK.. I won about $250 for the 4 days

It was weird not being able to drink at the tables. That horse racing thing was cool. Can't get a good drink in that area.

Flew into Ottawa.. I had business with a boat company called Doral. The Hotel was first class, but the Casino left a bad taste. We enjoyed, We went to "HY" in Ottawa and had a GREAT meal.

Yes the hilton is relatively new , i live about 1 hour from that casino and i know what you mean bad taste lol , many times we have went there and lost between 500 and 1000 in about 6 hours or less in the slots there , also there is no hold em poker there which sux , my friend hit 10 % of the caribbean stud jackpot he got about 19,000 4-5 months ago , but the most i won there in about 10 years since it opened is about 1300.00 in slots . Its quite a long drive to AC from here lol but well worth it don't you think compared to playing there ? glad you enjoyed Ottawa its a nice place !!!!!!

TERM.,i live about 30 miles from scranton.when they get this gambling in PA. its suppose to be slots, poker, all the good stuff.i think in dec. they are suppose to start leaving you know who will be getting casinos.will try to keep you informed.we love turning stone resort(its about 20 min. from syracuse).its a different kind of gambling(you put money on a diamond card) and there slots seem tight, and no alohol is served(bring your own).mohegan sun is in CONN. about 10 min from the big foxwoods casino.they are both very nice.foxwoods is huge.mohegan sun is bulding the casino right outside scranton,pa.we love A/C we go once a week and throw in an overniter once a month either at A/C or turning stone. well happy gambling, take care!!!

I live at 5 minutes from the Montreal casino. And I never go there. No alcohol , just coffee and juice ... and they give no comps, the slots pays less than 70%. The Quebec Government keep all the profits.

I keep my money for Las Vegas and AC. I will be tomorrow night August 26th at Ballys for 36 hours of non-stop gambling. I want to have a free room. Last time I was in AC I did all the casinos for 30-45 minutes each, I receive no comps and no offers. This time I will stay in one place, and play slots, slots, slots.

Terminator and sidmerkin... Gambling without drinking... in a *casino*?! There outta be a law... <eek!> Guess I am not going to Quebec to gamble!

Terminator and money... I thought I read where the PA racinos are supposed to open up in 2006, though I could be wrong. I will actually be reasonably close --about 2 hours away-- from the one than opens in Pittsburgh. Maybe Cokes will be on the house? lol
