Badain Jaran desert

I'm thinking of going to China in the end of August or in mid September specially for Badain Jaran desert. I have only 9 days of vacation. Never been in China before and will appreciate any information and help.

- How do I get to Inner Mongolia, which city is it better to go to

- From where the tours to the Badain Jaran desert starts

- Could anyone recommend travel agencies with english speaking personnel who organise tours to the desert.

- What's the weather like there in August and September, what timing is better?

The TOP1 of China's Five Most Beautiful Deserts is Badain Jaran Desert Interior in You Banner, Alasha Prefecture of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region: Curves drawn by God.

The best time to go from June to October. Badain Jaran Desert Interior Area belong Temperate arid and extremely arid climate zones. Its an average annual temperature is 44.6F-46.4F. The absolute lowest temperature is -22F to -34.6F. The absolute hottest temperature is 98.6F to 105.8F and on sand is even up to 158F to 176F. An average rainfall is 50-60mm and centered from June to August but precipitation evaporation is 40-80 times than rainfall. In Winter and Spring has strong winds mainly northwest getting to more 60 days and Gale or Force Eight get to 30 days or so.

On 10 October 2010 after sightseeing Dunhuang, we took by the night train from Dunhuang to Jinchang City of Gansu Province then on 11 October took by hired private car from Jinchang into YouBanner of Alasha Prefecture(150km) lasting 2.5-3 hours. On12/13 October we hired a SUV with driver through Badain Jaran Desert. We looked around in Badain Jaran Desert include Badain Lake, Desert Park, Desert Geology Museum, Yinderitu Spring, Bilutu Peak, Miaohaizi, Badain Jaran Temple, Echoing Sand Mountain, Nuoretu Lake, etc. That is a never-to-be-forgotten experience.

IF you start from Beijing and take by round trains, 6 days is enough. You can add Dunhuang sightseeing Mogao Caves and Sand Dune and Crescent Spring and Jiayuguan.

TRAVELING IS LIFE. HOPE CAN HELP YOU.

The end of August or in mid September for Badain Jaran desert is the BEST time.

Beijing, Lanzhou, Jinchang, Badain Jaran Desert, Lanzhou by round trains 6 days is OK.

Beijing, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Jinchang, Badain Jaran Desert Interior, Lanzhou by round flights 7 days or by round trains 9 days is better.

Another way go into Badain Jaran desert from Yinchuan of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Tengger Desert in ZUO Banner, Alasha Prefecture is PART of Badain Jaran desert.

So from Jinchang City of Gansu Province going into Badain Jaran desert is the right way.

TRAVELING IS LIFE. HOPE HELPFUL.
