I have been reading the forum for months to plan our visit to Siem Reap. We will see the usual sights, but wanted to take one day out in the countryside.
We are visiting around mid April. My thought was to visit Kompong Khleang. I read it was amazing in the dry months. I think it is a bit far, but should be doable in one day.
Chong Khneas sounds like a tourist trap, and most posters weren't recommending it. Kompong Phluck lookds interesting, but it sounds as though it might be difficult to get to in the dry season.
Finally, do most tourists take malaria tablets? I seem to be getting mixed reviews on the forum.
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions you might have.
