Don't let them put you off. A meal in the mall is cheaper than a burger meal here in the UK. A restaurant meal is no more expensive than a decent restaurant in the UK. If you want to spend megga then go to the Burj Al Arab.

It's as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be.

If you eat in a 5* hotel every night then it will be expensive but you don't have to do that. People who say 'Dubai is really expensive' have either not been or if they have been they have eaten in hotels all the time.

For tips and hints have a look at the section in the top questions called 'Is Dubai expensive'

Hi, we just had 10 nts in Dubai in June and found to eat in a Resturant it was about the same in the UK, went to a chinese and had a main course each and rice and a drink and it was about £40.00 then we also ate in the food courts in the shopping malls and if anything the food was nicer, had a Indian meal one night had a starter, two main courses and Rice and two naan's and two drinks and was about £11.00 but this was far too much for us to eat and could of just had one rice and one naan between us.

You can eat from $10 (even less) up to $5000 in a day, that gives you the range and spectrum of food joints and options available. Drop by a convenience store (by petrol pumps) or a small supermarket, you can pick up cheap sandwiches, soft drinks, coffee/tea, etc for $5. Walk into Burj Al Arab (prior reservation needed) and you can have high style dining for $500 (varies on your choice of meal and timing). Go to caviar house, and eat (or buy food) for $10,000. Come back to an Indian (or Pakistani) native joint and buy food for $10 which you and partner can eat for two times perhaps.

Food is cheap or expensive in Dubai, it is your choice and not a rule here. People who put you off do not know Dubai.
