Beware of shorts. The importance of religious awareness is obvious. Dubai police has therefore established the General Directorate of Moral Guidance. This Department includes several sections including religious affairs, which handles the contact between the headquarters and the public to strengthen links and ensure continuity of cooperation.

Des - your new approach is fantastic. I'm totally supportive. Rather than write an essay, or point them to the tons of reasonably factual info that already resides on here, you simply lie through your teeth to create an impression of abject austerity. Marvellous. Hopefully this will keep all those tourists away and, thereby, force prices down to the levels we were used to 4 years ago. Keep it up old son. Oh! And don't forget the religious police that will beat foreigners with camel sticks should they be deemed to be wearing inappropriate dress!!!!

Rister, are you sure you're not mixing Sharjah up with Dubai?

Look under Information and Procedures or General Department Of Community Services

Ah, but they don't really publicise it do they - unlike Sharjah, where they printed up a beautiful booklet!
