Life in Jeddah for Europeans

I am looking at opportunities to work in Jeddah. Having a Taiwanese wife and young baby, how is the life style there, is it a place with living quality or just restricted to life within the compounds?

jeddah is relatively modern city of saudi arabia.yes;women have to wear abaya;to cover their body, but you can walk around freely and can even enjoy swimming at beach.shopping and dining out is main timepass here.u will find all the well-known international brands in fashion here.weather is hot,but all places are air-conditioned and electricity is quite cheap for homes.so,it is really nice experience, living here in jeddah.

I am a Norwegian, and educated nurse. I am thinking about spending 1-2 years in the Saudi Arabia, with my youngest two children, working as a nurse. But I wonder, are kindergartens free, and does anyone have any experience with S.A. kindergartens?

Please send me private mail, if you like.
