slash&burn in LP in march

We are planning to visit Luang Prabang from march 6th to 10th , but we are very concerned with the smoke in the air.....Is it that BAD? It is the only time available and probably the only opportunity to visit LP for a few years... we are tented to try it anyway...Any comment from any one who went in previous feb-march ???Thanks

We were there last year the third week of March - it wasn't too bad, certainly didn't keep us from doing anything - we were told though that it was worse the week prior to our visit.

When I was there a couple years ago at the end of February you could smell the smoke in a lot of rural areas, but it wasn't so bad. The haze kinda made for lousy photography, though...
