entertainment in hotels?

Hi All,

Does any one know if you can go into other hotels and watch the entertainment?

Only when the hotels are not "all inclusive" (because they foolishly think that you only go there to reap free drinks or other services...).

The entertainement is bascially the same in all hotels, it is mostly acts and dancing and <ehem> more or less stupid games with the tourists. Only the quality and the schedule vary...

Sometimes there are really unique and excellent performances, but they are rare.

In addition, hotels rent in external performers for eg. "Tunisian night" (belly dancing, jonglage), "Fakir Show" or "Travesty Show" - again, the program is basically the same, just the quality of the actors vary.

A few hotels also offer a "Tunisian wedding night" performance, which is basically a barbeque with tunisian music in a tent on the hotel lawn (eg. Mouradi in Kantaoui), others offer to go to such a performance externally.

If you are interested in Travesty shows, the best - and probably the only one really recommended to watch - is performed not only in hotels, but also in the "Casino" in Sousse by a group with international actors called "Changing Ladies". This group has, I think, also two spin-offs who cover other areas in Tunisia.

I wouldn't bother - it's all much of a muchness (and often nothing to write home about). Go out and about in your resort would be my advice :)

The basic answer to your question is Yes!

As the above posts have said, they are usually the same.

Tunisia's what you make it - you either love it or hate it. Don't stay in resort all the time, go with an open relaxed mind and i'm sure you'll love it.
