Rent a car in guatemala

I'm going in November to visit Guatemala for 11 days. I plan a round trip starting in Antigua- Coban- Flores- Rio Dulce- Antigua the last 3 days stay in Lake Atitlan. Know I think about that it would be more pleasent to this with a car. Does anyone have experience with the car in Gua? Which company could you recommend, what kind of car will be good, how are the streets and works a GPS there? Thanks for helpful tips

Unless there's a few of you - to cut costs - renting a car tends to be more trouble and expense than it's worth. Your itinerary is served by buses, tourist shuttles, and other public transportation.

You can get around easily and at reasonable cost to most tourist destinations using shuttles or long-distance busses. However, renting a car at the Flores airport can be useful if you want to visit Tikal and Yaxha on your own schedule. The real issue with your plan, though, is that you have not left yourself enough time to enjoy all the places on your itinerary and will spend too much of your trip just getting from one spot to another.

Yes, renting a car gives your some advantages, but also possibly more problems than you might want. Gua is served so well by shuttles and buses. Why have the hassle of a rental?

Don't drive in Guatemala City! You'll regret it if you survive.
