Do you need an English guide for Pacaya -- is sunset tour ok

Hi there - I am trying to decide between one of the more expensive Volcan Pacaya tours that has an English guide and the cheaper ones with a local guide who speaks Spanish. Is it really necessary to get an English guide? Is the sunset tour dangerous?

I don't think it's necessary to get an English guide, you really just walk up to the lava flows and back down.

We did the sunset trip a few years ago and it was safe then. We did have an English guide but I don't think we paid any more for this.

Pacaya is an easy trip and definitely worth going, it's amazing walking on the hot ground right next to the orange lava!
