Biking daytrip to the beaches

Want to spend one day with my wife and 3 kids (12-16) go over from woods hole and bike to a beach, then early dinner then go back to woods hole. Looking for best bike route to a beach, etc.

Any advice?

Also look into taking the Island Queen ferry out of Falmouth, as an alternative to the Steamship Authority out of Woods Hole. The Island Queen parking is close to the ferry and it is a passenger only boat. You can walk your bikes on, but check the website to be certain. Your best route to a beach is along Seaview Ave from Oak Bluffs to Edgartown. The beach is mellow, as it's on the Sound with little to no wave activity. If the kids want more waves, you can continue on the path out to South Beach in Edgartown. The ride from downtown Oak Bluffs out to South Beach is approx 8.68mi Here is a link http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/21027500
