We would like to take a 1/2 day trip down the Panama Canal in April. Any suggestions for some way to do this that is not too expensive?
Several companies offer this trip and the prices don't differ much.
If you really want to save some money, don't take that transit and go to the Miraflores visitor center instead. Be there around 3 pm to check out the exhibition, then check out the activity from the roof top or better, the terrace of the restaurant at the 2nd floor, enjoying a cold drink at a great view. Most ship activity starts around 4 and is guaranteed whereas with the transit tours, you may be the only vessel in the locks !!
Also get a copy at Amazon.com of "Path between the Seas". A must-read for any visitor of Panama.
