We wanted to reveiw a great kayak trip in the River Istiam with Edgard from the Peru - but it seems local businesses have difficulty to put their sites on here to promote their businesses.
Also Los Cocos restaurant or "comedor" right at the beach entrance in Santa Cruz- the location is super, the ambiance beautiful with a new palm roof being constructed by the local owners and orginally designed wood tables - they have wood - fired food including pizzas - WOW!
Also organic chocolate, coffee, whole grain breads & desserts.
The veggie food was really good with herbs such as spaghetti with fresh basil!
The salads had a yummy dressing with vinegar and the plates were very reasonably priced.
Order your food and then take a swim on the beach and return for your breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The family also organized a hiking tour on Volcano Maderas where they farm, and also called Edgar & organized our kayak trip in the River Istiam - both were great tours.
They also have bike and horses to rent to ride on the beach or to the mineral springs.
This was the best place we found along the beach/road in Santa Cruz.
We can highly recommend Los COCOS after eating here for several days during our visit.
We stayed at the Santa Cruz Hostel at the top of the hill - very good value and nice local owners too - they have very good food too but at higher prices.
Can't find their listing to make a recommendation......seems this travel site has mostly foreign owned businesses/activities listed.....bummer - something to consider when traveling.
