If you only had 5 days...

Hi there, my husband and I are planning to go to Nicaragua in November, but unfortunately can only take about 5 days. What do you all suggest for such a quick trip? What kind of 5 day itinerary would you suggest? THANK YOU! Any suggestions are helpful!

On arrival go directly to Granada. After a hearty breakfast an early walk throughout the town. 4km would cover from the waterfront to the cemetery (worth a look, missed by most). Lunch and beverages in the pool during the heat of the day. 2pm off to Las Isletas for a cruise. Climb La Merced tower for a great view of the city at dusk. Dinner at one of the cities terrific restaurants. Dancing at Cafe Nuit to a terrific house band. Next day off to Volcan Mombacho for an early summit and hike or Volcan Masaya National Park, the white towns San Juan de Oriente (pottery), Catarina (lookout over Laguna de Apoyo), Diria, Diriomo, Niquinhomo (birthplace of Sandino) back to the pool, beverages, dinner. Depart early next day for an overnight or two on Isla de Ometepe. Final night in San Juan del Sur, small community. Easy to see in a day. Enjoy the sunset. Morning shuttle back to the airport.

saludos, Rob
