trip advise

We are three ladies who will be visiting El Salvador in March for 5 days (4 Nights). We would like to do day tours to some of the following places:

1. San Salvador

2. Suchitoto

3. Cerro Verde National Park

4. and/or maybe Ataco

5. beaches

We wondered if it would be better to stay in San Salvador or at the beach for four nights? We prefer staying at a small place on the beach but could we do day tours from there to the above places.

How much do day tours run for three people? Do you have a suggestion as to a hotel or B&B? Would it be better to do a package tour for this trip which would include lodging?

How much would this run per person? We would like to spend at least one day at the beach. How much would transportation be from the airport? We get in at 7:30 A.M. so have a day to sight see before we check into a hotel. We have a 2:00P.M. on the 5th day.

Thanks so much for all your help. Our original tour was cancelled but we really had our heart set on seeing El Salvador so are coming on our own.

El Salvador is small, so it is called the Land of the Hour (1 to max 2 hours to get anywhere). If you are going to do day trips, it might not make sense to go to the beach only to sleep at night (as you wouldn't go to swim or surf at night). It might also be hotter if you don't have air conditioning. So, maybe San Salvador is a better option. Another thing you can do is: go to Suchitoto and pass the night there, then go to Ataco, and pass the night there too...

Taxi from the airport is about $ 25.00 to San Salvador. You could skip San Salvador that first day and go to El Tunco beach (and stay the night there). It should be in the $ 50.00 range for the taxi?

There are some tour companies that are recommended by other travellers in these forums, like Cuscatlan Tours (I have met them), or www.tourinelsalvador.com that can give you prices. If I am free on a week-end, I might bring you to some of these places... and if you are in San Salvador, after work I might drive you around the city and bring you to some place for dinner so you get to see a bit of the city...

Hola is nice that you have decide to come to El Salvador after your trip was cancelled, sorry to hear that

going to your questions : you can perffectly stay at El Sunzal , el Tunco or La Libertad and take day trips to the highligth like Mayan ruins, Volcanoe hiking, Ruta de las flores , or sucgitoto the only difference is 45 minutes in each tour since is the time that taakes to go from San Salvador to These beach areas

daily tours for three assengers group is around $75.00 to $ 85.00 USD per person

accomodation in The area from $75.00 to $160.00

Beach

Advise central america PS wwwtourinelsalvador.com is a good option
