Varenychna at Hotel Khreschatik

Is this restaurant inside the hotel?

What are the prices like?

Is there a better Ukrainian restaurant near by?

Hi East of England,

In this area I would recommend O'Panas on Shevchenka Park. Nicely decorated and never had a bad meal there! They have website you can look at menu.

+1 for O'Panas. I don't eat there, but use their delivery regularly. And the meals, although increased in price recently, is good.

Just mind that you will have to walk along nearly the entire Volodymyrska to get to it from your accommodation. And by the way, the distance will be nearly the same as to Stare Zaporizhzhya on Podil that I suggested (no funicular here though ;)

Am thinking of going to O'Panas at a lunch time whilst we are walking around Kiev & looking at University building.

Try Cherry Varenyky (if it's your type of thing) :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varenyky
