2 night stay in Sofia - drinking and eating?

My golf mad buddy and myself won an auction for 2 nights and golf at the St Sofia Golf Club & Hotel just outside of Sofia at Ravno Pole. We get a complimentary shuttle into Sofia, but where are the best areas/places to eat and drink? Also what sort of prices are we looking at for both eating and drinking?

Hi! Go downtown for a walk. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. And prices of course vary! But a dinner in an average restaurant with main dish, salad or dessert and a bottle of wine for 2 should not be more than 80-100 lv.

Skara bar - great local BBQ food, not your average fast food.

Confetti - Italina... very, veeery good Italian.

Mediteraneo - the name says it all.

You will find many wine bars and cafes that you will probably like.

And a new roof top bar at Sense hotel at the center is also a great experience.

Try Mehana Izbata on Slavyanska if you would like a meal in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant where the locals go. They have an extensive menu and it is available in English. Portions are large, food is tasty, service is first class and prices are very reasonable. Two beers, two starters of bread stuffed with cheese or garlic and two main courses (pork and chicken) will be around 28 - 30 lev which equates to £12 - £13. I have reviewed the establishment in detail in he list of Sofia restaurants.

Wine is more expensive in restaurants in comparison to beer and most of the locals prefer beer. A beer in an average restaurant will be around 2 lev whereas a decent bottle of wine might be 22 lev.
