From Italy to Sarajevo, routes

Good Morning to All!

We are planning to go from north of Italy by car to Sarajevo, then Mostar and finally Split.

Anyone already did this journey? What about street condition from Slavonski Brod to Sarajevo? Are they safe enough and without worries?

Thanks so much for your kind help!

Chiara

Why you rather don't opt for Ancona-Split (Jadrolinija, SNAV) or Ancona-Zadar (Jadrolinija) car ferry?

The road from Slavonski Brod via Derventa, Doboj, is pretty OK two lane road, from Zenica motorway. You can keep a decent speed. Watch for police radars around Doboj

Thanks for the reply! Our idea is to go by car to Sarajevo, then Mostar and then split, some sea and come back worth ferry Jadrolinija from Zadar, yes!

Is it feasible and safe for your point of view?

Yes completely, this is one of the major roads in Bosnia. From Mostar you can take several routes, though - continue by Neretva valley to Capljina, visit Blagaj, Pocitelj, Roman villa in Mogorjelo, or go via Citluk to Ljubuski. In both cases visit Kravice waterfalls...
