Taxi from sigatoka to Suva

We are in for a cruise in april 2014 for 8-6 and we want to get out to sigatoka to visit a place we stayed when i was younger with my recently passed father.

can anyone recomend a taxi being the best option as we are aware its an hour 40 awayfrom suva or a private driver for the day to sigatoka and back?

If taxi is the recomendation how much should we expect to pay for the trip?

Thanks in advance!!

Depending on how much you wish to pay look at www.fijitransfers.com - great service and the driver would wait for you whilst in Sigatoka. This company would also (if you wish to) take you to Namatakula Village (Bati House) for a superb morning/afternoon tea or lunch (this is in Korolevu area, before Sigatoka) A real Fijian local experience. Being on a cruise trip, not sure how long you will have - half or whole day. Beware of local taxi drivers charging exhorbatant fees for cruise passengers as could be well over $200 (one-way)) Fijian cash would be the only option of payment. A local bus would cost around $22 p/p (one-way) but would take much longer. A local taxi from Nadi-Sigatoka (60 kms) costs around $60 (one-way) and Suva-Sigatoka twice the distance (126kms). Remember that Sundays may have limited public transport options.
