what to take

Hi all.

A family of 4 - we're heading to Hideaway next week, and now madly packing. Wanting to take over as least as possible due to taking over things from my daughter's school here, to a designated school in Fiji, so saving space where possible.

Question 1 - do we need to take beach towels or do they provide? This is our 3rd trip to Fiji and so far one place provided beach towels and the other didn't - does Hideaway?

Question 2 - the toiletries... As odd as it sounds, even just skimping on the shampoo etc means more ounces in the luggage for school books. But - only if the toiletries are actually there, and half way ok ones. Feedback welcome :-)

Any other bits of info or tips would be great.

Not long now - and we can't wait!

Cheers.

Can't help with beach towels ( an email to them will solve that issue) but why not buy what toiletries you need when you get there. The local supermarkets have a pretty good range. Sigatoka would be the best place on the Coral Coast otherwise Nadi area. As you know you don't need a lot of clothes for a Fiji holiday. Lovely of your daughters school to help out a Fijian one. Have a great holiday.

According to the resort's website, toiletries are supplied in all the bures, but doesn't mention the brand. As Hooked suggestions, contact the resort.

If you want to take towels - just in case - take the microfiber ones. We have taken these both times and they have been terrific and they weigh a fraction of normal towels not to mention that they pack down to nothing bulk wise. We didn't even bother getting beach towels from Musket Cove this last trip and when we were around on the Coral Coast last year they more than proved their worth for taking on day trips. Also (girl tip) great for wrapping wet hair in, they start the drying process straight away due to their capacity for holding water. I took two (for the two of us) but I intend to purchase another two since they were so handy.
