You'll probably do better to buy your wine at the duty free shop when you get to Nadi airport. Better range and decent prices.

I would agree with FijiFan77, you can buy decent wine at Nadi Duty Free while you are waiting for your bags to come off the carousel. They also have competitive prices on 6 packs of bottled water. The alcohol is usually available in the supermarkets in Fiji as opposed to bottle shops as such. They have such brands as Jacobs Creek and Lindemans and Clearskins! Hope this helps! We have found supermarket price comparable with resort shop prices. Duty free is the way to go.

DUTY FREE

Visitors aged 17 have an allowance of 2 litres of alcoholic spirits, or 4 litres of wine or 4 litres of beer and 500 cigarettes or 500 grams of tobacco product. Other items like personal effects and household effects for residents or intending residents should not exceed $400.

There is a bottle shop in Sigatoka but when we were there 18 months ago a bottle of Maquires Black Label was about FJD30, at the resort it was FJD40 but a Nadi supermarket was FJD24, I didn't check the prices at duty free.

Many thanks all. When you say duty free for wine etc is that part of the allowance that can be bought in eg: 2 litres or can you also go back and buy additional wine from duty free at the airport once you have arrived

It is part of your allowance, so if you bring 2 litres from Aus you can't buy more duty free in Fiji.

I emailed info@tappoo.com.fj asking for some prices late last night and had a reply waiting this morning.

Candice,

See post #5 by Marijka. They were very prompt in answering our questions regarding prices and brands available.

Have a look at the following link for other suggestions of what to take with you. will help keep the price down.
