five days left

Hello

I am traveling to peru for two weeks and one week will be dedicated to volunteering in Chota. Then I plan on going to Cusco for a two day macchu picchu trip. I have about four days left. Any recommendations as to what to do next? Is getting to the amazon expensive from cusco?

You need to spend sometime at the Sacred Valley and visit Pisac,Chinchero,Maras,Moray and Ollantaytambo to mention a few.

Check this forum for hotels in Urubamba.

The Amazon is also viable from Cusco. Go to Puerto Maldonado for a 3 night 4 day trip.

I did a driving tour to the Amazon basin with Manu Nature tours. It was pretty expensive, but worth it. Also, you could try rafting on the Urubamba. Mayuc Tours claims that they go higher on the river than the other guides, so that the water is cleaner (not yet effected by the twons along the river).
