Has anyone used Tambo Tours to see Machu Picchu? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

We used Llama Path for our Inca Trail trip & were very pleased with them. We had NONE of the problems Greg encountered. That agency sounds very bad, indeed -- and agree, it didn't have to be that way.

Peru has many hard-working people in the tourism industry who go out of their way to provide an excellent experience for their customers -- but you found one of the bad apples.

We used Tambo Tours based in Houston, TX. Overall the tour of Cuzco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu was as advertised. However, we requested tickets for Huayna Picchu 3 months in advance and received an email confirming they had confirmed purchase of the limited tickets. Then one week prior to our trip we were notified that "Sorry-the tickets are sold out." To make matters more infuriating the owner then tried to downplay his lack of attention to details by blaming his staff, referring to the hike to Huayna Picchu (which we had been anticipating and actually training for) as "filler of time", and suggesting two alternatives that did not even fit the schedule he made for us. When we came up with an alternative that actually worked, but required him to come up with a guide on short notice, he tried to talk us out of it.
