My boyfriend and I are planning a three week trip
starting in Peru (Lima) and ending in Bolivia (La Paz) in June 09.
We are hoping to follow a rough itinerary :
Day 1 - 4 (Lima, Pisco, Balleastas Islands, Huacachina and Nazca)
Day 5 - 7 (Arequipa, Colca Canyon and Chivay)
Day 8 - 12 (Cuzco and 4 day Macchu Picchu trek)
Day 13 - 15 (Cuzco and Sacred Valley)
Day 16 Puno
Day 17 Uros
Day 18 Amatani and Taquille Islands
Day 19 La Paz
We also want to include a number of excursions such as sandboarding at Huacachina, flight over the Nazca lines, surf lessons/horse riding at Mancora and white water rafting at Cuzco.
Could anyone please let us know if this sort of trip would be feasible to do independently or would an organised group tour be more time/cost effective?
We are budget conscious and also prefer independet travel but want to make sure that we dont miss out on any experiences or discounts which may be available through a group trip.
If we do choose the independent option, we understand that its best to use a travel company for the macchu picchu trek. If any1 has a good recommendation, please let us know.
Many thanks
Jess.
