Around S/. 60 to 70 is a good price.
have paid as low as 50 soles but 60 is average to Urubamba
you can also arrange a pick up with Andina costs a bit more...
but someone meets you with a sign very nice.
Actually, it's about a third that cost!
I suggest you contact someone like Sophie, at firstname.lastname@example.org to ensure a safe taxi with proper pick up at airport.
Negotiating your own fare could be tricky and you could end up on a lowsy car.Edited: 6:18 am, March 09, 2010
Anyone have problems with sofia responding? I have emailed her many times and she does not respond. I contacted David Ramos who is also recommended but reading your posts above I am concerned about his pricing he is quoting $75 for transfer from Cusco Airport to Casa Andina and that same amount Olly train station to Cusco. Anyone else to contact for a private taxi? Thanks!
A bus would be about $1.
taking your luggage onto one of those buses would be extremely unpleasant.
Anyone trying to charge you $55 each way is a dirty criminal, it's that simple.

I guess the guide trying to charge me $75 to Casa Andina is even worse then ;o) Odd because he is highly recommended by the experts on here. I am reconfirming to make sure I did not misunderstand his quote but it seemed clear that was the charge.
Thanks for the feedback!Edited: 3:51 pm, March 18, 2010
Of course a professional, experienced, English-speaking tour guide is going to charge substantially more, as he has much better uses for his time than driving a taxi. There is a registered taxi booth at the airport; they´ll charge you a bit more than a taxi you hail off the street, but it´s no hassle at all if you don´t want to deal with negotiating. There´s no reason to hire a tour guide just to drive you from place to place.
