Lima hostel/hotels

Hi to all again

We have finalised our timing for Lima and I will get back to that later with a schedule, now we are arriving @ 12.05am (unfortunately)on March 22 - but then we can rest up and sleep for a few hours after a long trip to here. Having looked at and being guided by fellow travellers on this forum I've got the hostels down to a couple to decided on, then a new freind in Lima suggested maybe we look at the Hotel President, I can't find them but apparantly it's a great old hotel ungoing renovations - can anyone tell me more -has it got contact/website? what's it like?

thanks again

Sorry, but I have not heard of it and cannot find it on the yellow pages nor registered at the Peruvian Bureau of Tourism.

The only hotel in Lima looking at the San Martin square is called the Hotel Bolivar, which was a great hotel many years ago.

I really would not recommend it now as downtown Lima at night time is not a nice area.

The main square in Lima ,the Plaza de Armas, has no hotels.

Last week I visited Hotel Bolivar. It is under renovation, and is true, is not safe to walk around in the Downtown area, at night, but maybe is worth to visit it at day time and try its famous Pisco Sour. Is an old classic Hotel and was one of the most luxury hotel in the area. Now you can stay at the presidential suit for something around $80 a night.

GFigari good morning

Now I understand where this came from, the Presidential suite.

The day visit for that famous drink sounds like a plan. Thank you for your input
