Taxi fares

Can anyone give me some info on how much a typical taxi fare is from the Lima Airport to Miraflores?

Cusco Airport to downtown Cusco?

How to arrange a city tour of Lima and Csco once we are there?

Price of a decent meal in these towns?

Thanks for your help.

1br - or 2br: Nice rooms in Condo right next to beach (Mira Flores)

I live in San Francisco. My sister-in-law owns a nice three bedroom, two bath condo right next to the beach in Mira Flores in Lima. The surfing is great. she lives in the Condo. You can rent one or two rooms on a nightly or weekly basis. The rates would be $20 per room per night and includes maid service.

If you want, my sister-in-law will show you around to the killer night life in Lima. There are hundreads of nightclubs (Salsa, Reggaton, Merangue, Rock in Spanish, etc.) and casinos. Mira Flores is kinda like the the Marina in San Francisco and is the safest area of the city. I should have some pictures soon to email you.

The info given to you is right on the money.

I would only add that it is much safer to pick a taxi inside the airport than outside as anybody can be a taxi provider, and not all of them are safe.

Food in Peri is excellent and for all type of budgets.

Seafood in Lima is unbeatable.Try the Kapallaq and do not miss the Astrid and Gaston.

When in Cusco try to stay at the Kuychi Rumi (urubamba.com) based in the Sacred Valley instead of Cusco City. It is nicer and you will aclimatize much better to the altitude.

Hi... As per the above messages, the info is correct. It is much better to take a taxi when in the Airport, although you will pay a bit more than if you go outside, but you will feel more secure.

Please note that when travelling by Taxi within Cusco the taxi fare should always only be 2 Soles (no more!), but being a foreigner you will more than often be taken advantage of.. I suggest you have the money ready and give it when you get out of the car. At the end of the day, the Taxi Driver knows he is over charging you if he asks for more than 2 Soles! It is 3 Soles after 10pm in night within the city.

It is easy to book city tours or any other once within Lima or Cusco. There are many travel agencies around to choose from.

I booked my entire trip through Pachamama Explorers and had no problems with them. I can recommend them for friendly service and no hassle! There website is www.pmexplorers.com

Enjoy your trip!

I found that taxi fares from the national arrivals area in Lima were cheaper than those from the international arrivals area. They are not far from each other.

I've paid on average about 18-25 sols from the airport to the Parque Kennedy area in Miraflores (this is after bargaining).

I did the Short inca trail with PACHAMAMA EXPLORERS. I receive a correct treatment when I hired the Short Inca trail vía email. When we arrived to Cuzco we went to the travel agency and they told us all the excursion details, they didn’t tell us about some land sliding that happened two weeks ago and that changed substantially the Inka trail route. In addition to this, they didn’t tell us that we would not arrive to Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate (Intipunku). Instead of walking six hours we walked for one hour and a half near the Urubamba river, we arrived to some ruins and then we crossed the river and walked for another hour and a half by the railway until we arrived at Aguas Calientes. When we made our discharges at the travel agency first we were told that they didn’t know that despite that the guide knew this information and told us that, and after that they said that they have forgotten to tell us.
