Climbing Hyuana Picchu then catching train

We are going to buy tickets to climb HP at 7AM. Do we have enough time afterwards to go back to the hotel, pick up our luggage, and then catch the 13:37 Vistadome back to Cusco. OR should we catch the 14:55 Expedition? We don't want to feel rushed but we also would like to go back to Cusco earlier rather than later. Thanks to all for your help!

If you are just climbing to the top and back it is likely to take you between 45 minutes to 1.5hours. Bus back to town run all time - just leave when they are full and they fill up quickly, so I would think you'd be Ok with the 13.37. If you are planning on seeing the Temple of the Moon this can add a couple of hours to your time on the mountain making it a 3 hour hike or more depending. Could proabaly still be Ok, depending on where your hotel is but the town isn't that big so you can't be too afr from the train station but ,you might want to catch the later train to allow time to see a bit more of Machu Picchu

Hope this helps

I would take the later train. MP is worth every minute you can stay and enjoy it.

If this is your only day at MPbyou should take a later train. If you'll have visited the day before and you are only climbing HP then you have plenty of time to catch the early train. We did the 7:00am hike of HP and were down around 10:30 and having lunch in Agua Calientes by noon.

We are doing the four day trek so we will be in MP the day before. Thanks to you all for your responses.
