We had 10 hours in Santiago before our flight home, and booked a day tour with Leo. From the minute he met us at the airport until the end of the day, he was a perfect gentleman and wonderful tour guide. He has a very comfortable van, speaks English well, and knows Santiago like the back of his hand. Leo made sure he parked the van in safe places and took care of our luggage and backpacks. Everywhere we went in all different parts of the city people recognized Leo, and came over to shake his hand and say hello. It's like touring the city with a celebrity! The highlight of the day was when we went to the Central Market. We not only saw incredible huge fresh fish from the Pacific coast, but we had lunch at Donde Augusto's in the center of the market. Leo suggested fish soup filled with all kinds of fresh seafood including shrimp, mussels, squid, crab, etc. We topped that off with some papas fritas and were entertained by some of the waiters. Meeting Mr. Augusto, the owner, was also fun and one of the highlights of the day. Seeing the Presidential Palace, San Francisco church, and walking around where some of the city street vendors were selling their handicrafts (and hand made items) also made for great pictures and a memorable day. Don't hesitate to book your Santiago tour with Leo. It was a day we'll never forget and we also have a new friend in Santiago!
