BTW, if you do reach SCL's "reciprocity fee" desk, you'll need MINT CONDITION dollars or a credit card to pay the USD$160 for American citizens. Mint condition in Chile means precisely that: fresh from the press, with no marks, tears, counterfeit ink pen marks, wear marks, even ink marks from rubbing bills together. Ridiculous... but that happens everywhere through Chile.
