We are staying at the Kings Coptorne Hotel, not sure wer this is as we have never been to singapore. We are looking to go to the zoo, night safari, orchard road, chinatown, and suntec city. Does anyone have any idea how much taxis would cost to these places, or if MRT is better, also if anyone knows where the nearest MRT to our hotel is please let us know! Thanx

1. Re: taxis

hi there,

King's is near Chinatown and not far from Orchard. It is across from its sister hotel Grand Copthorne Waterfront. The other hotel it is across from in the other direction is Holiday Inn Atrium.

The closest MRT would be Outram Park.

As for taxi fares, zoo and night safari are right next to each other, estimates at about S$15 from chinatown. Cab to orchard road is only $5 average, suntec maybe at $7.

The MRT will take u to Woodlands or Marsiling (i am not sure which one is closer to the zoo) if u choose to take it, u will then have to catch a cab (S$5) to the zoo or night safari.

If u take the MRT, u can alight at City Hall for Suntec City area (City Hall is the main changing station and with underground passages, u will be linked to suntec. U can start shopping along these passages !) For Orchard, there are 3 stops so depending on where u want to begin shopping (orchard, somerset and dhoby ghaut). Orchard stop is the junction where it meets Scotts Road (another good stretch of shopping and the beginning of orchard where it meets tanglin road). Then comes Somerset which is considered the central point. Dhoby Ghaut is where the Istana is located. The next stop is City Hall)

Good Luck
