Transit Hotel for Early am Departure

I am departing Singapore on a early am flight. The transit hotel seem like a cheap and convenient option vs. staying at an expensive hotel and checking out at 4 am. How does the transit hotel work for departures? Can I check in with my baggage late the night before my flight and then check my bags and board in the morning? Or, do I have to check my bags and clear security before I can access the hotel?

You need to check in you bags and go through passport control to have access to the Transit hotel. Many airlines offer early check in 24 hours in advance with luggage, and Singapore airlines allow 48h early checkin.

You have to check bags and clear immigration before you can go to the transit hotels, they are airside.

Whether you can do this early enough or not depends entirely who you are flying with and when they open their checkin desk and bag collection points.

you need to be booked through on your next flight and have a booking pass to show at the transit hotel to book a room ..which you will need to do in advance and not just roll up expecting to get a room

Assuming my airline allows early enough check in, could I check my bags at the airport sometime the day prior to my flight, enjoy the day and evening in singapore and then, later that night, return to airport, clear customs and access the hotel? I guess as long as I tote along with me everything I'd need for a day in Singapore and on the plane, I don't need access to my bags. The other alternative is to find something to amuse myself with in Singapore until 3 in the morning and than use my long flight home to recover.

Yes, once you have ditched the bags and have a boarding pass for onward flight you can go airside whenever you feel like it, so you could wander round Singapore for the day and then come back for the hotel later. There may be issues with booking because at that point you could not go airside after checking in, book the hotel and then come back out so far as I know - so you would have to internet book, or risk a walk in.

===> Yes - That is Assuming YOUR airline allows early check in. So Go read the Link in Post # 1 on which Counter & The Operating Hours of the early Check in.

===> There are alot of Places around the 3 Terminal in Changi Airport where U can take a Rest.

And if U have a Sleeping bag, U can go take a nap at one corner of the Viewing Hall (T2 & T3 are nice), where families & friends goes to watch the Plane flew.

Good Luck

Don't see my airline - Delta - on the early arrival list on post #1. I'll call them to see if that is an option. Anyone know the difference between the transit hotel's standard vs budget room, beside the $30 cost difference?

Delta don't do early check in, you will need look elsewhere. Or do what some of the Flyertalk regulars do and book a disposable ticket on a budget airline to get a boarding pass to get airside.

Now we all know U are with Delta, so no need to assume anymore.

However, the other Alternative is U can try a Hostel near Airport; then take a Taxi to Airport later (Midnite surcharge apply).

OR

Check out the 24hr Casino at Marina Bay sand then go Airport from there.

While I still think this is cheaper:
