Super Travels Pte Ltd? Super NOT FUN!

I want to warn everyone about a horrible experience I had with Super Travels Pte Ltd.

I have travelled many times with different tour agents in Singapore. It's usually a travel companion deal, 2 of you book into the tour together and share a hotel room etc. For all flight legs, I have always been on the same flight as my fellow tour members, or in the very least, with my travel companion.

But on a recent tour with Super Travels, I was put on a flight of my own. I don't even know why, neither flight was fully booked. And isn't it reasonable to assume that you will be on the same flight as your fellow tour members, or at least your travel companion, especially if as a group you have all been flying together during the tour and the tour leader leads you as a group through the airport to the gate?

What's worse, nobody from Super Travels even bothered to tell me I was not going to be travelling with my travel companion or the other tour members! I was in a foreign country, foreign airport, gates were about to close and I had just realised I was on a separate flight, the gate of which was on the other side of the airport. Imagine how panicked I was! It was a lack of professionalism and care at worst, a lack of common courtesy at best!

At least it happened to me, being an adult capable of speaking fluent English and travelling on my own. What happens if this had happened to a child or something who could not speak English?

When I complained to the company, they seemed to be saying 'it was your own fault' on one hand, but on the other hand offering their "sincerest apologies" and a $200 voucher. I asked them to instead donate the money to charity. I get a patronising response clearly written by their legal department how they had no legal obligation to donate money to a charity and then because they were still sincere, they would extend their goodwill by continuing to offer me the voucher.

Talk about poor customer service! They say they are sincere, but aren't willing to demonstrate it by donating money to people who need the money more than I need another holiday, even though they are clearly running a profitable business. And they then attempt to capitalise on their error by using the lure of the voucher to convince me to spend more money with their company. Why on earth would I pay $3000+ for a service I am dissatisfied with simply to redeem a mere $200 voucher?

Sighz the business world is ruthless and people just don't seem to have heart anymore!

WE never recommend to entrust your travel plans into the hands of the third party that has ZERO care about you and yours.

NOTE: be responsible, independent and self-sustained traveler, at least in this case you`ll have none to blame.....................

Did you not bother to look at your ticket/ boarding pass BEFORE the gates closing time?????

If I didn't bother to look at the boarding pass, I wouldn't have found out I was on a separate flight would I?

The flight the rest of the tour was on was to fly out at around 9:30AM (gates open at 8:50AM). The flight I was placed in on my own had gates closing around 7AM. When we were at the airport, the tour leader was leading us through half the airport to "our" gate. As you might appreciate, she was certainly under the impression we were all on the same flight and we trusted her and followed her through the airport. But since "our" flight wasn't to depart til 9:30, the tour leader decided we could all have free time and have breakfast etc. then make our own way to "our" gate. That time was 6:55ish AM. That was when I looked at my own boarding pass and realised I was on a different flight, and I realised I had little time to board that flight.

So yeah, I did look at the boarding pass BEFORE gates were about to close for "our" flight, but it didn't help that I was on an earlier flight which Super Travels not only didn't tell me about, but gave me the wrong impression that we were all on the same flight.

Regardless of the travel agents actions, deceptive or not, it behoves US ALL to check ALL details/paperwork/tickets/ boarding passes and passports OURSELVES.

As for any ''impressions'' anybody had, you also had tickets that clearly were NOT checked.

The buck stops with us, it's OUR holiday/trip, OUR money, OUR job to see that all is kosher and above board, LONG BEFORE we get to the airport. imho.. Alan.

I'm curious if you've been on one of these group tours before. They tell you where and when to meet at the airport to depart, they tell you what gate you'll leave, when you land you get on the tour bus, for 10, 15 or however many days, you stay together as a group. They all but tell you that you're all on the same flight, and mind you this was a connecting flight after having been on the same flight for the first part of the journey.

When we booked into the tour group but prior to the issuing of the e-tickets, we were told all our flight numbers for all travel legs and mine was the same as my travel companion at that time. Obviously things may change while booking, but it doesn't take much to let people know of the change in circumstance.

So yes, by all means I agree. I won't be assuming I'm on the same flight as my travel companion ever again, even though that has always been the case in the past when I've been on such group tours and even though I was given the erroneous impression by the agency. But by the same token, I still think the tour leader could've flagged with me (while leading us ALL through the airport) that I was on a separate flight - I mean, why bother leading me to "their" gate when she really should've known her agency booked me on a separate flight.

I'm just raising this issue so that others know that this tour company may not book you on the same flight as your travel companion even if you book the tour together!

Forgot to add to my last paragraph above, that people should also be aware when the tour leader takes you to your gate or tells you that you are all on the same flight and your gate is XYZ, not to always take them at their word, even if this has been the norm with other travel agencies in singapore.

Basically travellers need to do their own checking and not be ignorant about things.

this is horrendous.. i will avoid Super Travels at all cost..

but even the bigger agencies are doing this.. I went with Chan Bros once .. . in a group of 10, about 4 of us were to fly back on a different flight ... even though they inform us beforehand, it it still weird to be separated like that..
