Current weather

We are arriving in Singapore next week. Could anyone let us know what the weather is currently like?

Also, we have booked for High Tea at Raffles. I have received an email from the hotel giving the dress code but could anyone let me know if this is strictly adhered to?

Weather will be hot with the possibility of showers - usually in the afternoon.

Dress code is quite strict

Don't stress about the Dress Code for Raffles - we were there two weeks ago and there were shorts, sandals, flip flops with kids running around!

Scroll down and you will see comments about the High Tea in the Tiffin Room!

You got 4 seasons in the UK. In Singapore, there're are only 3: Hot, Hotter and Hottest. Don't worry about the weather. If it rains, just jump into the nearest shopping mall and you'll be fine.

Pack your summer clothes and some smart casuals for more upmarket restaurants and hotels like the Raffles. Layering is the best suggetsion. It can really hot out on the streets and really chilly indoors where sometimes the air-conditioning is turned on full-blast (another contribution to global warming, sigh).

The heat is perennial in Singapore. Add humidity to the equation and you've got yourself a giant year-round sauna.

Think 'hot' then multiply that by, maybe 5 times. That's the climate in Singapore for you. Only in December do people in this country get a brief respite from the tormenting heat when the monsoon rain brings a much anticipated coolness in the evenings and nights. Even so, temperatures don't drop much, hovering between 22C and 25C.
