Are there any (Thai style) bungalows on the beach of Bohol

Dear travellers,

I've read quite a bit on the forum about Panglao and Bohol, but as far as I found/read, there are no huts/bungalows/cottages on the white sandy beaches of one of these 2 islands.

Am I right?

We (2) people are looking for a relaxed beach experience. Laid back, the feeling we had on Ko Phangan (Thailand). We are no backpackers more kind of flashpacker (middle big wallets :-)

Any help is very much appreciated!

Best regards from Amsterdam,

Elles & Klaas

There are many places to stay at Alona that would suit your budget, as far as Nipa huts go, there are more upmarket places, such as Alona Kew, or inexpensive native style, such as Peters house, with room rates as low as 600php. If you have a budget of 3000php per night, I highly recommend Golden Palm, their deluxe room, less than 100m from the beach. I have yet to post a review, but will do so soon. They have a 100% rating here on TA

Hi - I stayed on Panglao island this past weekend so I'll add my advice. If you want relaxed, rather head to Dumaluan beach which is much quieter and nicer (IMO) that Alona beach. Bohol Beach Club is the biggest resort there and I think they offer some bungalows. Otherwise there is also Dumuluan 1 & 2 and White and Greens to check out - not sure what they offer in terms of cottages as I only saw them from the beach. Personally I liked the look of Amarela resort which is at the top of Dumaluan beach - a bit more remote, but lovely and peaceful. I think they only have rooms.

All the Dumaluan resorts have bars & restaurants but if you want more choice you can get a tricycle to Alona beach 5 mins away.

Maybe the bananaland cottages is something for you?

www.bananaland-cottages.com/index.php… Everything is made of native materials like bamboe and nipa
