Take cash - US$, UK Pounds, Euros or ATM Card and chang to Pesos before you get to Palawan where opportunities for changing cash and using ATMs are limited.
It is difficult to change GBP in Puerto Princesa , but there are plenty of ATM's (which sometimes run out of money, particularly around pay day).
No ATM's in El Nido.
Traveler's Checks can be changed, but only in USD at Gas Station.
All major currencies and GBP pounds can be changed in El Nido, but better rate in Puerto Princesa.
No ATM's in El Nido
which gas station in puerto????? please tell me, im all out of money and my credit card is out...
Hi,
I would have thought in PP that the banks would change travellers cheques?
In El Nido the El Nido Boutique and Art Cafe, I believe will exchange TCs (no doubt for a hefty commission) but say on their site "Traveller's cheque are changed only in USD only". I assume this means they only change TC's that are in US dollars and not £GB or euros
I've just returned from PP and found that a couple of banks would change travelers checks but only in $US, you have to ask around.
An interesting aside is that I arrived at the airport in Manila on Sunday and they wouldn't touch travelers checks, I think because the banks were closed. When I came back on a Friday they wouldn't change Euro travelers checks either, so I'm not sure how good travelers checks are anywhere.
