Was supposed to go to Banaue this weekend for a quick 3 day trip. Tried to call the three bus lines with great difficulty. Glad that one answered, Florida Bus, and told me that their Banaue route is temporarily suspended. Same with Autobus. Not because of the roads but because of their permits, as I have learned from some other sites (LTFRB suspended their Banaue route).

Really bad for tourism.

I wouldnt want to risk not being able to get out of Banaue because of the limited transportation available (as its seems Ohayami Trans is the only direct transport doing the Manila-Banaue-Manila route). Plus the fact that their only number is impossibly difficult to contact (yes, it rings, that means the line is active, but nobody answers). Been calling the tourism center also, to no avail.

For people like us who do not have the leisure of time, all these pose a problem. For those with more time, you can gamble with one bus, or take other routes via Solano or Baguio/Sagada. That would be impossible for me, as I wouldnt want to spend most of my time inside a bus. Too bad, guess not meant to be this time.

Will give it another shot in a few months...

This is a difficult questions as both companies does not seems to have a website.

Your next option will be by Manila-Baguio-Sagada-Bontoc-Banaue if you can't get the Ohayami Trans.

Else get a private transport or join a group tour.

Found this.

So unless Autobus and Florida sort out their license issue, there is only one bus to Banaue.

A tour group I met up with in Banaue took the Ohayami bus. It left Manila at 10PM and was in Banaue by 6 AM.

If you do not want to do that, then I would recommend taking a bus from Manila to Baguio. From there you can take a transport van from the Rizal Park Terminal to Banaue. I did an overnight one (P340). There is also an early morning one, but the overnight takes 5 hours and traffic is lighter.

WARNING: There is a good chance you will be approached by a guy who will act very official asking where you want to go. He is a con artist who preys on unsuspecting visitors and will inflate the price by a large amount. He wanted P450 for Banaue. All he does is lead you to the proper van, get your money and pay the driver the real amount and pocketing the difference.

Just ask around for where the van for Banaue location is...it is just a very short walk from the Rizal Park terminal itself.

You may call +63-09175060817 (8 am to 9pm only) if you can't contact the landline 02-5160501 (sometimes there's no dialtone and had been reporting this problem to the telephone company, new application to other phone company is still pending). Ohayami trans is on a pay as you reserve basis so it is better to go to the terminal ahead of time to purchase your ticket.located at Cor j.fajardo st lacson ave sampaloc (fronting metro oil gas station and sampaloc fire station) about 100 meter from Florida bus terminal. Departs at 9:30 pm Kiangan/ lagawe and 10pm banaue.
