More scams...

* 2 (b)

Deceitful trike drivers (species "cheatus trikedriverus", Found very often in Angeles and Manila)

* Some people (often most surprisingly kids in a good crisp school uniform) may walk up to you and nudge you "I have no money" - found in Manila and Subic

* Unsolicited Text messages (sms on your mobile) that tell you about cheap loans with no collateral.

* Unsolicitied Text messages (sms) on your mobile that tell you that they are from some girl 18 years old who needs money desperately and will do anything for it.

* In many places where buses drop you off at a midway point, trike drivers will invariably tell you that the last jeepney has left, or that the jeepney stand is too far, or that the jeepney stand does not exist.

* In Davao, as you exit the airport, you will immediately be approached by private taxi drivers with a laminated card proclaiming that taxi costs to the city are 500 - 600 pesos. If you manage to shrug them off, you will realise that the meter taxi is just a few steps ahead (just ask the police men, they will tell you) . Meter taxi costs about 150 pesos to the city.

By the way, I did not see any scams in most other tourist places that I visited - Baguio, Banaue, Apo island, Siquijor, Cebu, Malapascua, Camotes, Taal, Bohol, Vigan,100 islands..... Thank God.

We are a family with 2 kids (4 and 7 years old) going for a lastminute 9 day trip to Philippines.

Leaving the 12 of April.

We arrive the evening before very late in Manila, so doesn t count.

we planned

Day 1 vIsit Manila

Day 2 Manila + Flight to Bohol

Day 3 Bohol inland tour + beach

Day 4 Bohol snorkeling + ferry to Cebu

Day 5 Osbol snorkeling whaleshark + flight to Caticlan

Day 6 Borocay

Day 7 Borocay

Day 8 Borocay

Day 9 borocay - Manila - HK

BUT we struggle with the middle area, we really want to swim with whalesharks and our daughter wants to see the frasier monkeys and we wwould like to experience the less touristic beach then Borocay.

is there another place where we can stay that cn makes us save traveltime ?

Thanks for youe advice!
