New hotels underway in Philippines

While www.skyscrapercity.com lists some Filipino hotels that are in the throes of construction such as the new Hyatt in Fort Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, are TA readers aware of other hotels or accomdoation being built (not merely renovated) in Philippines?

As we've already discussed in other fora threads, GoHotels (as part of the Robinsons group that owns Cebu Pacific airline) and Tune Hotels (affiliated with AirAsia) are busy building basic but reliable hotels.

It seems likely that a further hotel in the Megaworld (Andrew Tan, taipan) complex opposite NAIA Terminal 3 will be called either Belmont or Hamilton Luxury Hotel.

There must be others, many of which will be low rise and hence never covered on Skyscraper City.

Information as to the likely opening date for each would be handy. Some must be in Visayas or Mindanao.

tommomelbourne, Azumi Boutique Hotel in Alabang, Metro Manila is now listed on TA's database:

tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g312690-d527987…

Anyone who stays there is most welcome to submit a TA formal review. This kicks off the ranking process that many hoteliers (and TA users generally) believe is so important as a judgement of how travellers perceive an hotel, restaurant or tourist attraction.

On an unoccupied side of Potpotan Island, Coron, Palawan behind the 19 room Coral Bay resort, a Danish couple is building their home to be followed by a backpacker 'resort' in partnership with the (also Danish) Coral Bay resort owner.

It may be open in two years' time.

TA member and Iligan City world expert bobinnewyork informs me that the hotel below opened last November (2013) in Iligan City. While it does not have a pool, it is typical of how investors are building 'business hotels' in second tier cities such as Iligan which is not far from Cagayan de Oro City in Mindanao.

Then again, Iligan City's population at more than 320,000 is not to be sneezed at. In my own Australian state of Victoria, this is bigger than Ballarat and Bendigo combined:

I have asked for this hotel and its Munich rooftop restaurant to be added by TA to its ever expanding Filipino database.

TA has kindly added Munich Rooftop Restauerant, Iligan City to the TA database but has not yet done so for Plaza Alemania Hotel, so I have again asked for the latter to be added.

The Lio will slowly rise in El Nido:

Since it is an Ayala development, we might expect quality.
