In late October, we want to go from Tokyo to visit Takayama, Kamikochi, and to see the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route. From there we will be continuing toward Kyoto, possibly stopping for one-two nights in Gifu prefecture (Tajimi?) to see ceramics, etc. We're wondering what the best route for us would be. We thought we might go from Tokyo to Matsumoto and spend the night there, then travel the Alpine route the next day, ending up in Takayama. We want to spend two nights in Takayama. We're not sure how best to fit Kamikochi into this route, or if there is a better route. We've been to Kanazawa, so won't be making that stop on this trip. Any advice for the best route is greatly appreciated, and any thoughts about visiting ceramic or other artists in Gifu prefecture before going on to Kyoto are very welcome. Thanks!!!
