Traveling Singapore/Jakarta return with longboard (surfboard

Hi,

we will be flying from Singapore/Jakarta return in June and I will have with me a longboard surfboard of 2.8m in length.

After searching various airlines SIA will include surfboard with laggage allowance, Lufthansa cheap but surfboard $$$.

I have not considered low cost airlines to date.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

mozeca,,

Thank you for having my geography point NOTED, but i also have to bring you attention to the fact that the OP asked his question on Jan 23, 2011, 10:07 - more than 2 years ago. The river has flown since then...

Even though the matter may be interesting for the future travelers ( you are the FIRST through the 2 years passed), we ALWAYS recommend to start a new thread rather than reviving the dead ones.

cheers and have a nice weekend

Hi all, thanks for replying to my post over the past 2 years.

Firstly, the 2011 trip was postponed.till May-June 2012.

Took a 9'6" longboard flying Virgin Australia to Bali, then Garuda to Jogyakarta. Return same.

No problems with board and was part of my checked in baggage allowance.

Yes, I did go to B. K overland from Yogja. A trip you won't for get.

Booked again for later this year flying Qantas to Jakarta-their board maximum is 2.77m or 9'1" and is again part of oyu check in allowance.

Jetstar is also same from Australia to Bali if flying 330 airbus.

Cheers, Michael
