Itinerary help for Bali and Java pls!!!

We plan to see Borobudur temples, prambanan temples then go to Bali for Tanah Lot, Goa gajah and the mother temple of Besakih in this May'13.

Can anyone please suggest to us know how many days are enough for all of that? not too rushing and with a few days relax by the beach in the middle or at the end of the trip, what work best?

And where should we start from,we will be flying from Bangkok?

How should we do it all please?

Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Annie.

You best fly directly to Yogyakarta. But if you come from Bangkok, you will transit in Jakarta anyway. Try to stay there the least possible time. For flight options, look here:

Some people do Borobudur and Prambanan in one day, renting a car with driver to get around. There even exists a combined ticket for the two sites, that you have to use in one day.

But IMHO it is better not to do these places in a hurry. Especially around Prambanan there is more to do; I always advise to attend at Ramayana ballet performance in the evening, if possible:

So, depending at what time of day you arrive in Yogya, I would say: two days three nights there. Then you can fly to Bali.

For the sites you mention a couple of days are enough, best base yourself in Ubud. Then for relaxing on the beach you could go to Lovina in the north - less crowded than the Kuta region. All in all it is easy to spend a wek in Bali.
