I have a crimal record in the last 3 years, am wondering if I am still allowed into Bali. Only going for 12 days.
I would call the Indonesian consulate in Sydney..
My cousin has colourful crimal record and she has had no charges for 9years and they told her she wouldn’t have much luck getting through but it depended on the person on passport control - so she decided against it as she didn’t want to waste a heap of money and get sent back home!
You will be fine pay for your visa and line up with a smile and enjoy your holiday
There is no question on the arrival card about your criminal past.
I guess the Indonesians take the attitude that if you do the wrong thing on your holiday - you have a long time in horrible conditions to think about it.
But I would make a call to the Consulate - maybe block your phone number and don't give your name...... but make the call....
Hi..as far as i know there is no criminal check on entry to Bali.
If you are applying for a new Australian passport that may be an issue. There are questions in the passport application on whether you have ever been convicted of a criminal offence.
So do they check if you have a criminal record on arrival into the country?
Whinnie is correct if you are applying for a 60day visa beforehand
Depending where you apply eg Sydney Consulate & Embassy in Canberra
the question: "Have you ever committed a crime or any offence" is asked
It is not asked on the Perth consulate forms
As for VOA nothing is asked on the forms
Thanks so much, we r travelling with anotha couple, & was worried this was going to be a huge hiccup
I also think that you will be fine.
Just don't bring attention to yourself and dress and look conservative.
