Dynasty, Mandira or Legian Beach Hotel

We are going to Bali in October and have narrowed our choice down to these three hotels. We have two children, 12 and 15. I would love to hear whuch one you would choose.

Many thanks

i haven't stayed at the first two hotels but i think that the legian beach hotel is the old name for the jayakarta hotel at legian. if it's the hotel jayakarta that you are thinking of, i recommended it. it has three pools. restaurants on beach and street side. shopping that is easier than kuts (i think). the best room would be a two rooms that are interconnecting around the main garden. they are quiet with a nice garden view. the pools are a great opportunity to socialise. breakfast is very good. we have stayed a few time. we will be there in april with our two kids 12 and 15 (girls) then off around the bali exploring.

hope this helps

The Legian Beach is not the Jayakarta, it is a very nice hotel that is really the first of the beachfront hotels that run from Legian up through Seminyak. When I say the first beachfront, there is a small road that runs between the hotels and the beach but it is closed to traffic and is simple to cross over. We have just returned from a 2 week trip and stayed our first week at the Mandira in Legian...we thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend the premier rooms in the 3 floor hotel complex at the back of the hotel. I thought they were much better rooms than the cottages (cottages are being refurbished from March, so not sure how much the work will disturb hotel activities). We loved the hotel rooms because they were bigger, had more light and on the third floor we had a nice view out to the beach and over the hotel grounds. I have also stayed at the Legian Beach and they are really quite similar properties that are right next to each other.

I don't know the Dynasty but the other two are quite similar and being next door to each other are similarly located (very good location to walk everywhere). If you run up the beach away from Kuta where Jl Melasti swings at 90deg, you have hotels in this order.

Legian Beach

Mandira

Padma

after that I can't remember all the hotels but we walked past them each morning on our walk/run on the beach.

Puri Raja

Melasti

Jayakarta

Sofitel Seminyak. (interesting property next to the Sofitel, brand new and looked to be just opening, I think it was called Sunset at Six), actually just looked it up and it is called Anantara, Seminyak. Looks expensive though.
