can my family of 6 ride the airport express from kowloon going back to hongkong airport? our flight is at 7pm so what time should we leave kowloon? where do we go and buy the tickets for return to hongkong airport by airport express. we have 6 big luggages too. how much is the fee for the adult and for the child? There are 4 adults and 2 adults. or upon arriving at hongkong, can we buy a rountrip ticket pass for airport express?

Presumably you mean 4 adults and 2 children. Concessionary single or round- trip tickets are available for child age 3-11. Children under 3 and not exceeding 95cm height can travel free. However, assuming your children are over 3, the most economical option for your group of 6 will be to purchase Airport Express Group Tickets for your journeys to and from the airport and Kowloon Station. There are no child concessions but it still works out cheaper than buying individual single-journey or round-trip tickets. Details are here;

mtr.com.hk/eng/…promotions_4persons.html

For a group of 6, a group ticket for 4 plus a group ticket for 2 to Kowloon Station costs HK$360 in total and the same for the return journey to the airport.

You can buy tickets at the airport at any of the MTR Airport Express Customer Service Centres or you can board the train without tickets and instead, purchase on the arrival platform at Kowloon Station at the Airport Express Customer Service Centre. You can pay by cash or credit card.

For the return journey you can buy Group Tickets at the Airport Express Customer Service Centre on the concourse at Kowloon Station.

With most airlines you can use the Airport Express In-Town Check-In facility at Kowloon Station & Hong Kong Station up to 90 mins before your flight departure although I wouldn't suggest leaving it that late. List of airlines where Airport Express passengers can use In-town Check-In is here;

mtr.com.hk/chi/getting_around/images/itci.pdf

The Airport Express operates every 10 mins and takes 20 mins to reach the airport. If you can't use the In-Town Check-In, it's probably best to be at the airport a minimum of 90 mins before your flight departs.

In case you aren't aware, there are frequent airport buses which offer much cheaper options for travelling between the airport and most districts of Kowloon and, depending on where you are staying, may be as convenient as the Airport Express. Taxi to most parts of Kowloon costs about HK$220/250 and although you would need 2 taxis for your group the additional cost may be worthwhile for the convenience.

The Big Bus night tour starts from the Tsimshatsui Promenade. You may visit their website for details:

From your hotel it's a short walk to the stop:

#4: Yes you can take the same Airport Express shuttle back to Kowloon Station. These shuttles are on a circular route. When they come dropping off passengers from the Kowloon Station to Holiday Inn Golden Mile, those who want to go to Kowloon Station would get on after the inbound passengers have alighted.

Yes, the K3 Airport Express Shuttle Bus also takes you back to Kowloon Station (about every 12 mins).

Just tell the hotel's doorman that you are waiting for the Airport Express shuttle and he will make sure you get on it.

BTW you also asked about "nightly fireworks". You are mis-informed, (unless you mean DisneyLand?? ). The Symphony of Lights is just a laser light show projected onto some of the high-rise buildings in downtown HK.

Actually, its only partially a laser show. Lasers are projected into the sky and on to the facades of some buildings but the display is mainly from LED lights fixed to prominent buildings.

The Symphony of Lights show is ok but don't expect too much. It's like icing on the cake for the harbor view. English narration is broadcasted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai promenade.
