Dear All,

Never ever think of staying at USA Hotel in Kowloon, HK.

You will be totally disappointed with their service and the rooms they have.

Do not be fool by the nice room pics shown on their website...

My family and I were so eager to have all our fun in Hongkong during CNY period..but the moment when we about to check in to the hotel room, it was a total disatrous to us.

There will no proper reception area, all guests have to queue by the small, narrow lift corridor and wait for long hrs to check into the room.

When we saw our rooms, we are even more disappointed!! The rooms are totally so old, basin cracked, water dripping from the room roof, really no words to describe our frustration and disappointment at the point of time.

The bad attitute staffs have made things even worse, all they can tell us if you want the room you take, otherwise your deposit will be fortfeited.

That made us even more frustration.

We have no regret to leave the place at once.

Never be seduce by their cheap rate else you be regret!

Is this the place you stayed at?

If so, that is really bad to hear about your terrible time there. I hope you found another place to stay during your trip that was better. If you have time, you might want to add your review to the page above. I'm sure it would be very helpful for future http://www.tripadvisor.com/ readers.

If it was the USA hostel in Mirador, then the lesson for future travellers is that most hostels do NOT need booking in advance.

Instead, head to the top floor of Mirador and work your way down and look at the various hostels and guesthouses until you find somewhere that meets your standards and budget.

The trouble with booking in advance is that pictures deceive, and if you have paid a deposit, then the hostel owner doesn't have much incentive to offer you a better room if you are unhappy.

Finally, 99% of hostel rooms are very small in Hong Kong, although some of the better ones in HK are very clean and have many facilities, and offer a much better deal than hotels costing twice as much or more.
