Very confused about getting from Macau to Hong Kong

I keep reading different things regarding transportation from Macau to Hong Kong. I heard there is a high speed ferry, but I just discovered it is only available for people at the Hong Kong Airport. I also read there is a brand new bridge that allows for car/taxi transportation, but now I just read it is behind schedule and won't open until December.

If anyone can tell me a simple way to get from Macau to Hong Kong without going to the airport, that would very much appreciated!

What's wrong with the ferries? (i.e. did you try the search function in this forum?) Not likely that bridge is ever going to be faster or more convenient for most of us!

By the way, the link given above is barely 18 months old and very much up to date. Things don't change that much.

High-speed ferries operate to Macau from Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island, China Ferry Terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon, Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal in the New Territories and from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) The service from HKIA can only be used by transit passengers remaining airside and cannot be used by passengers whose journey originates in HK.

Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal has the most frequent sailings and 24-hour service. Ferries are operated by two companies, TurboJET and Cotai Water Jet. TurboJET opeates mainly to Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and Cotai Jet operates mainly to Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal on the Cotai Strip. Sailing time is about one hour. You can find timetables and fares at these links;

wvmarle 18 months ago might not seem like long ago, but 18 months ago the new bridge had a Oct 2016 opening date. There could definitely be old/outdated info in a 2015 forum post. Was hoping for current stuff. Thanks though.

SolentTraveller- Thank you. I appreciate the links. So if I'm reading this correctly it costs $189 to take a ferry from HK to Macau in economy class? And $378 round trip? That can't be right. Can it?

Website pricing is in Hong Kong dollars! (not USD). 1 USD = 7.77 HKD

Okay a few questions about TurboJet. They have two starting points in Hong Kong:

CLK = Hong Kong Airport

HKG = Not Hong Kong Airport

This doesn't make sense to me, because HKG is the actual airport code for Hong Kong Airport, but it's the ferry port that is NOT in the airport. Can anyone clarify?

Second, it appears the ferries running from Hong Kong Airport are very infrequent (every 5 hours), but the ferries from the other port are every 15 minutes. If I don't want to wait 5 hours for the next ferry and choose to go to the OTHER port, what is the best way to get there from the airport?

Oy this is confusing.

Where are you seeing CLK?

The routes are Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to Macau;

https:/…sailing-schedule-fares.aspx

Hong Kong (HKG) to Macau - this is the route from the main ferry terminal at Sheung Wan on HK Island;

https:/…sailing-schedule-fares.aspx

Kowloon (KLN) to Macau - the route from China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui;

https:/…sailing-schedule-fares.aspx

and Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal (TFT) to Macau;

https:/…sailing-schedule-fares.aspx

From the airport to Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan you can take a taxi, about 30 mins journey, or bus A11, about every 15 mins takes about 35/40 mins and stops right outside the terminal entrance (almost the entire journey is via expressway so there's not that much difference between taxi and bus journey time);

https://mobile.nwstbus.com.hk/nwp3/…

TurboJET also has a land connection service from the airport to Tuen Mun Ferry Terminal which takes about 35 mins and from where sailing time to Macau is only 40 mins although there are limited number of sailings;
