Port to train station transfers

Hi, we have booked flights to visit china next April. 4 nights HK, then 3 nights Shanghai followed by trip up Yangtze to chongqing. I am sure Chongqing is a very nice city but after docking, which is scheduled for 8am, we only have two further nights before our return to the UK which we are proposing to spend at Chengdu. Two questions please :-

1) how far is it from dock to train station for Bullit train to Chengdu. Is taxi the best bet and how much should it cost. Will there be taxis at the dock or is it possible to book them.

2) I have previously been to Bejing, Xian, Great Wall hence this itinerary. Does the itinerary seem sensible ?

Thanks for any advice.
